Tea Experiences
at Grace's
Our tea house and library of natural tea leaves is hosted within Grace’s on the rooftop floor of Blue Mountain School. Orchestrated by our in-house Tea Sommelier, tea experiences are offered by request for a single sitting and are inspired by the traditional tea ceremony, inviting guests on a journey through the origins of the ritual of brewing and drinking tea.
The selection comprises natural tea leaves sourced from ancient and wild tea trees that have been carefully preserved in biodiverse forest environments and processed by hand using traditional techniques. The library is focused on unique flavour profiles of Camellia sinensis from China’s southwestern province of Yunnan, rare matcha varieties, handmade Japanese green teas, as well as natural and hand processed varieties from Japan, Korea, and India.
All tea leaves are kept fully intact and have been processed without the use of chemicals, allowing the leaves to retain their energetic structure and to be received in their most natural condition. The leaves are sourced from ancient tea trees that have grown in a rich and biodynamic environment, surrounded by plants and wildlife that contribute subtle nuances of flavour that are carried by the leaves. With root systems that are far larger and infinitely more complex than farmed and cultivated tea bushes, these ancient tea trees have the extraordinary capacity to absorb nutrients and offer an honest reflection of the environment in which they were grown.
Inspired by the ancient teachings of Chinese tea masters, water is carefully prepared and treated on-site using natural processes for the brewing of each tea.
The space has been designed and handcrafted by German designer Valentin Loellmann and is equipped with a library of handpicked records and a custom-built sound system.
