Alexis Gautier 'Stair's Legend (Black Sheep)' (2016) handwoven and handbuilt tapestry in natural wool made in collaboration with local craftspeople in Lamjung Bhujung, Nepal. Exhibited as part of Blue Projects' inaugural exhibition Stairs, Zebra, Bees and Light Purple Jackets by Alexis Gautier in 2018.

Woven on a back loom and felted over a period of two days. All colouring is natural wool. The graphic pattern is woven into the textile, featuring grey, taupe, and cream motifs that depict the making process of the work.

Features black marl body, integrated grey, taupe, and cream motifs, graphic black border, selvedge edge, and incorporated fringe finish.
